Seals lying on a rock out at sea

Kayak with the Seals

Posted on Posted in Community, Events, Kayak, Nature, Seapoint

A unique opportunity is coming up to be involved in a different kind of sea journey.

Our dear friend John Akers is organising trip to have lunch with the seals at the mouth of the River Stour.

It is hoped to kayak down with the tide, have lunch with the seals and return on the tide.

It will take place on a Saturday in February/March 2018.

We will set off from Sandown Castle in north Deal and paddle past Sandwich Bay, ending up at Pegwell Bay, where we will journey a little way up the Stour to find the seals.

It is around a 14 mile trip.

Tea and coffee will be available at John’s house on our return and dry clothes can be stored there.

Timings and finer details will be available once we have an idea of how many are interested.
